This policy explains what Nights Off collects, why, and the choices you have. Nights Off is run by Lachlan Irving, an individual developer based in Australia ("we"). Contact: hello@example.com.

What we collect

DataWhyWho can see it
Email address and password (the password is handled by our sign in provider; we never see it)To create and secure your accountOnly you
Your roster: shift patterns, individual shifts, leave and days you're awayTo work out when you're free and find people who are free at the same timesOnly you. It is never shown to anyone else, including your matches. Other members only ever see a rough level of shared time before a match, and the times you share after one
First name, suburb, what you do, bio, whether you want kids, what you're looking forTo show your profile to people who might be a matchSigned in members who are eligible to see you, except anyone you've blocked or who has blocked you
Date of birth, gender, and who you're interested in (genders, ages, kids)To confirm you're 18 or over, and to decide who you see and who sees youOnly you. Never shown to other members. Your age (not your birth date) appears on your profile
Profile photos you add (up to 6)So people can see who they're meeting. Each photo is checked automatically for explicit or violent content before anyone else can see itSigned in members, except anyone you've blocked or who has blocked you. Moderators if a photo is reported
Likes, passes, matches, plans (day, part of the day, place, note) and chat messagesTo match you and let you plan datesLikes: the person you liked, once they look at their likes. Matches, plans and messages: you and that match
Private check ins the day after a date (did it happen, would you meet again)To learn whether people actually meet, and to spot problemsOnly you. Never shown to the other person
Blocks and reportsTo keep members safeBlocks: only you. Reports: our moderators
A push notification token, if you turn notifications onTo tell you about matches, messages and plansOnly our systems

We do not collect your location, contacts, camera or device diagnostics. Photos are only ones you choose; the app resizes them on your phone, which drops location data in the original. We do not use advertising or analytics tools, we do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not sell or share your data.

Text filtering

Profile text and plan details are checked automatically for offensive language. Private messages are checked for slurs and terms describing sexual violence. Nobody reads your messages unless they are reported.

Service providers

We use Google Firebase to run the app: sign in, and a database, photo storage and server functions hosted in Sydney, Australia. New photos are screened by Google Cloud Vision (this may be processed outside Australia); a photo that fails is deleted straight away. Push notifications go through Expo's push service, Apple and Google. They process data on our behalf, under their own security and privacy terms, only to provide these services.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete your account we delete your profile, roster, photos, date of birth and preferences, likes and passes, matches, plans, conversations and messages (for both people), check ins, blocks and notification tokens. Exception: safety reports made by you or about you are kept after deletion so we can act on patterns of abuse. Only moderators can see them.

Your choices

Adults only

Nights Off is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If you believe someone under 18 is using Nights Off, report them in the app or email us and we will remove the account.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
